Three Card Therapy

We live in Stories in which we operate as Characters – this is our Expected Self (EXS).  The aim of the cards is to understand how this self functions and to explore how the Unconscious Adapting Self (UAS) plays a larger role in our lives than we had perhaps imagined.  The Transformative Self (TS) offers us ways out of our current impasse. The aim is mindful reflection.

The aim of the cards is to lose our habitual focus on the self. By stepping back from our habitual modes we ‘rest’ at the space where these two axis meet and gently reflect on what is occurring in each of these three selves areas mindfully. The pledge all our clients make is to look after the person going through this.  ‘Look after’ means nothing more or less than the active compassion .
