Introducing Our New Therapist

    Michelle Morris

I am delighted to be involved with Men Should Talk. The appeal of this model is in the results. They are achieved relatively quickly. This approach has been life changing for so many men. What strikes me is that although this model works impeccably well for men, it is by no means gender specific. I am committed to exploring the possibilities this expansion offers. Additionally, as a mother to two teenage sons, I feel it is vital that the next generation is equipped with the emotional literacy that will transform their skills for a lifetime.

I have known Dr Gareth Palmer for nearly thirty years and continue to be inspired by his approach to the human condition. It is a real pleasure to have been trained in his methods.

As a therapist, I am caring and empathic. I have navigated mental ill-health myself and continue to recover. My route into therapy is informed by over twenty years of teaching and lecturing experiences. I am easy to talk to and I’m a great listener. I have been in private practice since 2021 and left a full time University lecturing post to further my passion for helping others. Along the way, I have worked as a head of department in the international TV Drama and Film community helping companies to meet the requirements around Covid to ensure the sector could continue to produce content safely. Additionally, I was engaged to support the wellbeing of cast members and crew as a Mental Health First Aider.

After taking courses in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy, I was additionally drawn to modes of therapy that provoke lasting change in a relatively short space of time. I qualified with two diplomas. Firstly, with the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (H.P.D) which is considered the ‘Gold standard’ in the UK, and with the Solution Focused Brief Therapy Diploma (D.S.F.H). During the pandemic, therapists continued to support clients using hybrid approaches, hence the face to face and online training ground in which I was embedded has ensured that I am as comfortable seeing clients on online platforms as I am seeing clients in person. Both approaches work.

I am registered with the National Council for Hypnotherapy and with the Complimentary and Natural Health Care Council. I am engaged in regular supervision and in continuing professional development courses which have included, Neuroscience, NLP, and Parts Therapy. I am fully insured.

I have an inclusive approach to therapy. I believe in what works for the client. This requires an open and receptive mindset. There is a free consultation at the beginning of our time together to work out the most effective way to help you.

I look forward to working with you.
